Description:
The veneer of the city creates an illusion of tranquillity until you navigate through its underworld. In its bowels a precarious narrative is weaved. The nether regions of the city are perilous. The derelict and rot cleaves itself into the DNA of society. Dongas course deeply through the fabric of humanity. It is at this ravelled edge that Vettie, like Cerberus, stands guard. The image captures several layers of a dilapidated building. Rubble is strewn in the basement, soot coats the walls and colourful laundry is in contrast with the disrepair, showing signs of life. You are drawn into the scene and ushered down the stairs with Vettie, forcing you to confront the ruling junta of the city. You are compelled to weigh and consider the realities and constructs of this world.
