Research shows that in South Africa alone, almost 1 000 children are reported missing every year. In the current city I live in, I found out that one child was abducted on his way home, walking from school  - only to be found dead a few months later. Police, the community and other children claimed that his bag, shoes and socks were the only remaining objects at the scene he disappeared from.

Lately schools experience a lot of absenteeism because of learners and parents being scared of the same happening to them. Every child and parent deserve the right to life free from such fear. Education and free children make for a happier and better nation tomorrow.
