Description:
Katiba e ka busa setjhaba
A hat that only has the power we attribute to it. This is a traditional hat worn specifically by a Basotho King, as it has enormous power and respect attached to it. This work is essentially about existing as a queer person in a patriarchal society that cannot maintain the power of Queerness. The hat cannot symbolise the same attribues to a queer person, but in this work it shows that there is an existence in strength and vulnerability in queerness that others cannot identify with. However, what is A KING TO A GOD. This power only becomes significant to our being as we allow it to be.
