Description:
The Free State province is known as the bread basket of the country due to the farming culture and vast land. Because of this, people in the province, particularly in rural areas, are used to cultivating. The tradition of hand work by means of farming has even led to a development of Litema. Litema is a distinctive design aesthetic and a pattern inspired by “ho lema” (to cultivate). The work is a celebration of hard working Free State men and women and it seeks to promote the beauty of Litema designs.
