Description:

There are so many things I would like to write about this drawing. I would like to mention the women who suffered whether publicly known or not. I would have liked to explain the meaning behind every pre-Raphaelite blommetjie…but now the image exists and so it belongs to all, now each viewer is responsible for its meaning.

We live in a blameless age where horrific content can easily be shared via social media, without remorse. This image is my form of recognising the responsibility we have, that I have. I leave it at that with this humble quote from a little song I wrote to accompany this image. “We give the pretty little girls flowers, we place pretty little flowers on the girls' graves; Eve said: Adam you’re late or am I just brave?” Spare Ribs – Wolfgang Marrow.
