Lesego Motsiri is a patient, hardworking, determined, and creative person. He lives and does his Fine Art practice in Bloemfontein, where he did five-year B.A. Fine Arts degree at the University of Free State (Fine Arts Department). He specialises in new media art (digital art, photography as art and video as art), printmaking, painting and drawing.
In 2020 two of his photographic prints were selected by the Art Bank of South Africa for their 2021 collection and TIRO YA DIATLA exhibition, and he was also selected as one of the top 13 finalists of the WHAT’S THE STORY? – The Budapest Diary Art Gallery Creative Space, International photography contest.
He took part in the District Six 50th Commemoration Print Exchange (hosted by District Six Art Museum) and made it to the semi-final of the Sasol New Signatures Art Competition (2016). His collection of artworks, The_Black_Season_17, was used in collaboration with Motlatsi Moeketsi Khotle (choreographer) for a 2two-hour theatre dance production which premiered at the Ernest Oppenheimer Theatre (Bloemfontein) in 2017 and 2018.
Lesego is a member of the Free State Art Collective and has taken part in the FSAC national exhibitions (Betwixt & Between) in 2018, 2019, LOCKDOWN (online exhibition) in 2020 and the Free State Art Collective exhibition at Gallery 2 in 2021.
He has a keen for unusual beauty, a high level of attention to detail, and great interest in art as a form of education. “I am a committed and goal-orientated individual who believes that: one is to work hard in order to achieve, and one is to always be focused on the objective and be willing to go the extra mile when helping others. I am always driven to achieve the best results in all I do”.
