Description:
My work surrounds mental health and investigates how we create alternate realities to cope with what we face in true reality. I explore the ideas of fantasy, existentialism, the uncanny and the mystery that lies within the concept of an alternative reality. I have found myself on the constant verge of wanting to escape, wondering about the strange and terrifying beauty of the other and the natural world. The sublime, the unknown parts of the world yet to be discovered and the eternal mysteries that still lay within the things that have been so to say ‘discovered’. The human species has a strange tendency to become fearful of what we might not know, because this inevitably, makes us uncomfortable.
