An iconic image for the launch of Phatshoane Henney New Breed Art Competition has been unveiled today. The striking human figure shows strands of a DNA helix merging with a human form, signifying the evolution of man, thinking and method. With subtle references to the Vitruvian Man, but evolved in a way even Leonardo da Vinci could not have imagined, it is a bold image which creates the necessary emotive visual connection between man, art, artist and the future.
“We see this bold image as a wonderful marrying of our firm philosophy of being a new breed of law firm with this competition which at its core seeks to discover talent and a new breed of artists. As a visual arts competition, this image, although not intended to be art, provides the necessary visual reference for this first-of-its-kind Free State visual arts competition,” remarks Magdel Louw, Marketing Manager at Phatshoane Henney Attorneys and coordinator of the competition.
