Description:

“Found objects” may be described as art created from undisguised objects. These objects are not normally considered art, often because they already fall in their own categories.

Collected objects or “curiosities”, grouped together in cabinets in Renaissance Europe, however were still without categorical boundaries. Modern terminology would categorise the objects in these cabinets as belonging to natural history.

Fragmentary object chambers are a peephole into curiosities such as the crab, toad and lizard - once living animals, but now used, bottled, preserved and catalogued into a curiosity collection. As these collections vary from element or materials and category methods and styles, there is a part that will always look foreign from another’s perspective.

Braille offers a secret tactile writing system that is accessible through knowledge, but still inaccessible to the blind.
