Description:

A fine line exists between life and death; between male and female; darkness vs the light, yet it is all connected. This conceptual piece shows how all is connected and how our spiritual beings flourish within the beautiful chaos to form one - Perfection!

The X-rays symbolise the world - naked, pure and transparent. Nothing left unseen; even the beast within each of us. This series of work takes a stance on 'the good, the bad and the ugly' and the legacy we leave behind. The collection of fourpieces within the series symbolises the beginning and the end.

It shows life’s journey taken, on an emotional and spiritual road. The beast is prominent in each piece. We are born with 'mistakes'; as sinful beings - represented by darkness, but the light still penetrates our bones - which shows up white on the X-rays, the exact symbol for light.

Tip-X and Jik were used to create light, which in itself is metaphoric since both are products used to erase mistakes. Ironically, in trying to reach perfection and purity, we are still trying to erase mistakes by using products that inevitably leave a mark. "The beauty of imperfection."
