Anri du Plessis studied BA (ED) Fine Arts at the University of the Free State, majoring in drawing, graphic art and art history. From 1989 to 1991 she was an art teacher at Mowat Park, Durban, after which she taught art at Ferrum High School in Newcastle from 1993 to 2017. At present she is an art educator at Oranje Meisieskool in Bloemfontein.
