Description:
Flux
noun
1. the action or process of flowing or flowing out.

There is calmness to be found in the act of understanding and accepting the constant state of flux in the world around us. There is constant change flowing in and out of our lives - sometimes exciting and sometimes terrifying.

The series of photographs flow into one another, transforming into something new in each frame. They were created through experimenting with snakeskin and ink. Ink has a fluid materiality and it easily changes as it drips and flows within the photographs. Snakeskin as a material is both curious and frightening – it not only signifies constant growth and process, but also represents a creature many people are weary of. However, by photographing this material in a manner that makes it appear more ambiguous, I allow for the viewer to find their own explanation and definition thereof. The meaning of the material changes and becomes something new for each new viewer. The photographs themselves, due to their ambiguity, are in their own constant state of flux and flow.
