New Breed Art Competition 2020 cancelled

As a direct result of the Covid-19 pandemic and uncertainty concerning the lockdowns that have been implemented and continue to affect all of South Africa, the New Breed Art Competition 2020 has unfortunately been cancelled.

“Phatshoane Henney Attorneys in association with Oliewenhuis Art Museum have come to the difficult yet unavoidable conclusion that due to the impact of the restrictions under the unforeseen Covid-19 pandemic and the continuing health and safety concerns accompanying the growing spread of the virus, prevents us from safely running the competition and all events associated therewith,” says Magdel Louw, Competition Coordinator.

“We are confident that 2021 will allow us to host the New Breed Art Competition once again, and come back with a bang. We encourage all our artists to stay safe and keep creating with an eye to the next competition. We thank you for your understanding,” she concludes.
